IDW Games plan to divide and conquer the tabletop with Amoeba

New Tile-Laying Game By HG GAME Worx Coming May 2019

Get ready for infectious fun as IDW Games is releasing Amoeba, a tile-laying game by HG Game Worx Studio! Amoeba is a unique tile-laying game for two to four players in which players draw and place tiles in order to build the biggest Amoebas. Set to release this summer, Amoeba will certainly spread the fun all over your gaming table!

“Amoeba is the type of game that really gets under your skin!” says Jerry Bennington, IDW Publishing’s VP of New Product Development, “Heidi and Greg Preslicka created a timeless, evergreen design and the colorful, quirky art by Sebastian Koziner and Greg Preslicka make the game ooze right off the table. This is the type of game we see taking over the minds of gamers of all ages for a long time."

Amoeba sees players placing tiles to a shared board connecting edges to form different-sized amoebas. The goal of the game is to capture as many amoeba segments as possible by placing Nuclei markers on them. The twist to the game is players may use tiles from their hand to split completed Amoebas and hurt their opponents' scores. This simple wrinkle adds wonderful tension and endless replayability to a game that can be learned in minutes but stays with you for so much longer.
