INTRADA Announces Jerry Goldsmith's MORITURI

MORITURI
Music Composed by JERRY GOLDSMITH
Conducted by LIONEL NEWMAN
INTRADA ISC 445

Intrada's latest release is a reexamination of Jerry Goldsmith's 1965 score for the World War II drama Morituri, from the 20th Century-Fox library. Morituri is part of a set of war films scored by Goldsmith in the '60s, including The Sand Pebbles, In Harm's Way, and The Blue Max. While originally released by the Film Score Monthly label, due to poor condition elements and limitations in technology of the day, that album featured some compromised sound and intercuts from mono sources in order to make the score presentable. Under the detailed eyes and ears of producer Mike Matessino, this new release has been restored from the complete stereo elements and features dramatically improved sound over the previous version.

As Tim Greiving writes in his notes, "This is a score of suspense and action, tension and explosion. Tricks like quivering tremolo strings and rhythmic ticking accomplis…

INTRADA Announces Jonathan Beard's HEAVENQUEST: A PILGRIM'S PROGRESS

HEAVENQUEST: A PILGRIM'S PROGRESS
Music by JONATHAN BEARD
INTRADA INT-D 9001

Intrada announces its first digital-only release, continuing its support of soundtracks for smaller films in the ever-shrinking physical music distribution business. For its inaugural digital release, Intrada features Jonathan Beard's score to the Vudu-distributed film Heavenquest: A Pilgrim's Progress. Beard, who previously scored What Still Remains and Frank Vs. God, composed a score that served double-duty — embodying both the external, epic onscreen adventure and the inward journey of progtagonist Vangel (Patrick Thompson). As Beard notes, "There are numerous extended sequences with no dialogue where the lushness of the score really shines, in addition to some epic battle moments. But it is the quieter poignant material that resonates with me the most and was a particular treat to compose."

The score, a mix of electronics and acoustics, features a large percussion section and highlight…

A NEW TEAM OF HEROES COMES TOGETHER IN THE NEW WARRIORS #1 TRAILER!

When Kamala’s Law goes into effect in the highly anticipated one-shot OUTLAWED this week, the former teen vigilantes Night Thrasher, Firestar, Rage, Speedball, Namorita, and Silhouette will need to step up to lead the next generation of the Marvel Universe. But will they be able to make them into heroes?

Created by Emmy-nominated writer Daniel Kibblesmith and rising superstar artist Luciano Vecchio, the classic New Warriors of the 90s will reunite to introduce the New Warriors of 2020!

"I wanted to have teen characters who felt as "now" as the New Warriors did in 1990,” explains Kibblesmith. “The New Warriors have been zeitgeist characters from the beginning, you get edgy skateboarding Night Thrasher in the '90s and the Reality TV team in the 2000s, and now in 2020, we have New Warriors who have never grown up without the Internet, and one character who appears to essentially live inside it.”
